About Booking With Funny Business

How far in advance should I book?
For the top entertainers at Funny Business, we recommend booking a month or more in advance. For the Holidays (Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween) many clients book 4 - 6 months in advance. With less notice, your choices will be fewer.

What do I need to do to book a party or get a price quote?
Review the options, and when you find the perfect entertainer for your party, send a party request. We will respond within 24-48 hours of receiving your request. If they have that time available, we will send you a price quote. (If that time is not available, we will contact you with that information, and help you work out an alternative.) We need to know information like party location, number of children, etc. so that we may properly quote you. You will receive your quote via e-mail, and forms submitted Friday - Sunday will be answered no sooner than the following Monday.


Does Funny Business require a deposit?
Yes, and you can pay with any major credit card, a debit card, or PayPal. The amount is determined by the entertainment you want to book. The deposit is NOT refundable if the party is cancelled with less than 2 weeks notice. If a party is cancelled, we will keep a credit on our books to allow the party to be rescheduled within 6 months of the original date. If you book more than a month before the party date, you may pay the deposit with a check or money order.

How do you calculate the price?
Price is determined by the entertainment you choose, and the length of the party. With more children and more activities, the longer you need your entertainer at the party. If you are at the edges, or outside of the DFW area, a mileage fee may apply. Also, for outdoor parties during the heat of summer, there is a $25 surcharge. After sending your on-line request, Funny Business will reply with a quote for your party.

What is the Funny Business reputation?
Funny Business has provided entertainment to the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex longer than any other agency. We started in 1984, providing thousands and thousands of customers with wonderful memories. (We have the references to support this, too!) You can look at the on-line calendars to see how often our clowns work and in some cases for whom they are working. All our entertainers must pass a criminal background check before they are accepted to work with Funny Business. We want you to be comfortable with the entertainer at your event. We also require our entertainers to carry professional liability insurance.

Many companies go the extra mile to make a sale; we go the extra mile AFTER we make the sale. How? Funny Business is the only agency in the DFW metroplex with a 6-step Performance Assurance process to make sure we never miss a party! The process uses the following:

  1. Repeat all information over the phone to the customer to verify correctness
  2. email customer a written confirmation with the details so the client may check all the information again.
  3. send all entertainers a written contract which they then have to respond to us that they have received the event information.
  4. Our office CALLS the entertainer the week of the party to verify they remember the event and have it down on their calendar for the correct date/time.
  5. Entertainers CALL all private parties 48 hours in advance of the party to reconfirm all details with the client.
  6. We ask all clients if they miss that final phone call to call our office on Friday before the weekend (or the day before the event) so that we may hook them up with the entertainer.

Every week we get frantic calls (usually on Thursday or Friday) from OTHER agency's customers saying their entertainer cancelled on them. This happens due to other companies double booking their entertainers or entertainers cancelling when they get "a better gig". That NEVER happens with our company. Why? We book first come, first serve. If we book a 1 hour birthday party for you and a famous person in DFW calls us for a 4 hour party on the same day/time, we will NEVER cancel your entertainer to take the other job. All customers are treated equal at Funny Business. Instead of cancelling a party, we have the resources to find a different entertainer for the 2nd job. How many entertainers do we have to choose from? Over 200 entertainers right at our fingertips makes this is very easy for us to do! Sure, we give repeat customers special service, but that never means at the expense of another customer!
